Sunday, June 10, 2007

Dear Teachers, Parents, Mel, Robin, Ms. Pearl, and Sonya Belle;

Thank you so much for the perfectly beautiful retirement party. What a magnificent send off. I was so touched by all of your hard work, time and effort. I had the best time.

I want you to know that each of you has made a wonderful difference in my life, and I am richer for the experience of knowing you. I have learned so much from you, and I have been so fortunate to work at such an outstandingly terrific school --with incredible administrators, a beloved staff of super people and marvelous parents. I have loved coming to school each day. My work has been so much fun and so rewarding. I shall miss teaching, but most of all, I shall miss all of you.

Thank you all, each and every one of you, for sharing this part of my life with me, and thank you for celebrating my retirement with me. You make my heart sing.
God bless you,

Jill Reese

This is it! Your last day of elementary school has come. You are now 6th graders. You have been an outstandingly wonderful class and I will miss you.

"You are unique and so am I.
If you do not fulfill that uniqueness,
it is lost to the world.
No matter how uncomfortable it may be,
you must pay your debt to the life
that has been permitted to you.
And do it with as much courage as possible."
- Martha Graham

HOMEWORK HELP

A wonderful history web site is: History Matters. This site has marvelous links and information.

* Suggestions for memorizing your poem:
1) Tape record it.
2) Say each line over and over, aloud just before bed.
3) Hang a copy on the bathroom mirror, have a copy in the car, hang it on your closet door, put it on your shower door.
4) Take it in your pocket.
5) Make it into a song
6) Create movement for it, as in marching
, skipping, jumping, etc.
7) Practice daily!
