Have you ever thought of owning your own business? Writing your own computer programs? Do you like to work in teams? Work on the computer?

Castlemont Business and Information Technology School ((CBITs))
Our Mission

  • We welcome and support all students: Special Education, English Language Learners, GATE, you!
  • We will prepare all students for 4-year university admission and the high-technology business workplace
  • We will provide a safe, personalized learning environment where students and families are known well
  • We will prepare all of our students to be problem-solvers and analytical thinkers
  • We will develop students’ solid character and citizenship habits
Special School Features:

  • We are the only Bay Area school accepted into the New Technology Network of schools
  • Project based learning with regular use of computers and other technology tools for research and communications
  • We will have 32 computers in each classroom within two years

School Climate and Safety

  • All classes are in 200 building, except PE and ROTC, and building is always secured
  • School-wide focus on citizenship and upholding community values
  • Each student will have an Advisor who monitors and supports the student’s progress
  • An emphasis on community, based on strong supportive relationships

CBITs Graduation Requirements

  • All of the OUSD requirements, plus: Annual demonstrations of knowledge and skills
  • Personal portfolio development
  • Creation of a Business Plan
  • Demonstration of solid citizenship habits and personal responsibility
  • CBIT Curriculum and Instruction
  • Students will regularly work in teams to solve problems, using computers
  • Students will give presentations about their project work
  • A variety of Advanced Placement courses available
